June 2010 Newsletter

I wish you could see firsthand the daily progress and change that takes place in the lives of the children here at Boys Farm.  Hard work and struggle is naturally a part of being in this ministry, but the blessings and peace that come from seeing God's hand at work are immeasurable.  Sometimes the boys express it quite well through what they have to say in essay contests or school assignments:

Boys Farm is...

Boys Farm is a good place to be.  There's so much stuff to do here.  You can play basketball, football, ping-pong, ride horses, and work with animals. In my second paragraph I will tell you what goes on at Boys Farm.

At Boys Farm you work a lot so Boys Farm can look nice and to let us work hard.  Boys Farm tries to create a family here.  They try to teach us manners; sometimes it doesn't work out, but sometimes it does.

The things you have to deal with:  we have chores, we have to cut grass, rake leaves, and we have devotions.  We go to church.  The best time to be at Boys Farm is at Christmas time.  I like the stuff they give me.  Thank you for everything you do for us boys.  We really appreciate the things you do and if others don't, I do. I thank you; I thank Boys Farm for giving me a chance to be here.  Thank you all,

God bless you,

Darien

My Progress

Boys Farm is where I live

I consider it my crib

People pick on me

But they don't see

The joy that it brings me

I have been here for 10 months now

I have struggled so hard

To make step 3

But people don't see

What's inside of me

What I went through to

Make step 3 was

Changing my temper, and my school work, because my house parents

Pushed me to be the best I can be!!
