October 2005
Dear Friends,
In recent weeks we have witnessed the destructive power of two major hurricanes. Many people’s lives have been dramatically changed due to the devastation of these storms. We at Boys Farm join you as we are encouraged to pray for these individuals and to help in whatever way God leads.
The Bible gives a number of scriptures that instruct us to “pray for one another.” Sincere intercessory prayer works because it is scriptural. Jesus Christ prayed for us while He was on the cross and He continues to intercede for us today. Have you considered the fact that after Jesus prayed for us, He then became the answer to His own prayer to save us? May we be so real in our prayer life that we will be sensitive to what God is calling each one of us to do.
The ministry of Boys Farm continues today to reach out and provide a Christian home for boys in need. We could not effectively accomplish this mission without prayer. We are to pray without ceasing, seeking God’s guidance and direction, and do whatever it is God is telling us. Again, our example is Christ. Christ glorified God while on this earth by completing down to the last detail what God had assigned Him to do.
I am sharing my heart with you about the necessity of praying for one another, because we need your prayers. I would ask you to pray not only for the physical needs of the boys, but for each one to see their need for a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Please pray for each staff as they minister daily to our children. We also need houseparents called by God for His purpose in Boozer Cottage. Boys Farm’s daily operating expenses continue to rise as in everyone’s home, therefore please pray for our financial support. Finally, I ask you to pray for the finishing tasks that need to be completed to enable us to open the Nehemiah Cottage for our children. As I shared last month, we have all the boys in two cottages while waiting for Nehemiah Cottage to open. Consequently, we have no room for boys who are currently waiting for placement at Boys Farm.
On behalf of all of us at Boys Farm, thank you for your faithful prayers and financial support to continue the ministry of Boys Farm.
By His Grace,
Marty Gilpatrick
